    La Posada del Rio Sonora is a boutique hotel and restaurant on the Plaza Principal of Banámichi. Our 250 year old adobe has 10 rooms and suites, and two apartments. This is the heart of “La Ruta Rio Sonora” with nearby hot springs.

    Opened on November 11, 2006 We are located in Banámichi, right in the heart of La Ruta Rio Sonora in a restored hacienda de adobe.
    A colorful and unique historic property. Once a home of General Padilla of the Mexican Revolution, it was lovingly restored by local artisans during 1999-2006 by William (Bill) Dorringtom Harmsen Jr. and Irma Rojo. In 2010 it was purchased by Darrin and Cheri Jones of Decatur, Alabama and has been updated and promoted as the premier hotel in the Rio Sonora Valley.

    We have two rooms with one queen bed, four rooms with two queen beds, three suites and two apartments. We have a full service restaurant and bar. There is free high speed Wi Fi and bicycle rental available. Now there is an HD Television with complete satellite and computer service in the cantina lounge. Special trips to local ranches and horseback riding can be arranged. There is even an option for guided quad rentals and birding as well as hot spring tours.


    There is a private shuttle from Tucson (TUS) and Phoenix (PHX) International Airports as well as a free shuttle from Hermosillo (HMO) International Airport just 2 hours away. For U.S. flights Tucson is cheapest and closest.
