    Arid Adaptations Nursery
Founded in 2012, Arid Adaptations is a local nursery specializing in cactus, succulents and caudiciforms. We also feature many plants that are frost and heat hardy--ideal for Arizona landscapes.

We have been growing plants in Tucson since 1992. The last ten years were at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum as a horticulturist in the botany department. As our personal plant collection began growing out of hand, it became obvious that a nursery was the only answer. With six greenhouses, 50,000 plants, lots of dogs, 15 chickens, turtles, and great landscaping we have a wonderful oasis in the desert.
Arid Adaptations also offers consultation, potted installations and design services.

Our business’s commitment to this pioneer Tucson neighborhood has been spearheaded by Kelley Rollings and his family for more than four decades. When Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup presented the ""Heart of Downtown Award"" to the Rollings family recognizing their exceptional contributions, he said ""The Rollings family has played a major role in preserving what's unique about our Downtown."" Thanks to their passion for historic architecture, many irreplaceable structures in Barrio Viejo have been beautifully restored and preserved for future generations to learn from and enjoy.""

In 1971, Kelley Rollings and his wife, Sally, began investing in adobe buildings in Barrio Viejo, many dating from the 1860s and most were threatened by neglect. Today, Arizona Territorial Lands LLC and Bacon Industries, Inc., own more than 30 properties in Barrio Viejo. Each was restored as much as possible to its original appearance, in many cases using salvaged materials, to achieve the highest degree of authenticity. Our properties in Barrio Viejo attract both commercial and residential tenants and our preservation and renewal project has helped breathe new life into this historic location.

The Rollings family continues the commitment to restore this unique neighborhood and its historic structures. Donald Rollings said, ""It is encouraging to know that our community values the preservation of the city's historical architecture and rich cultural heritage. The outcome of present-day efforts to mix preservation and revitalization projects in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Tucson will impact the quality of life in our larger community.

One will discover understated elegance all through the buildings on our properties and we are proud to contribute to our community by making this kind of investment in its heritage.

Born and raised in Tucson, I have developed a life long love for the Sonoran Desert and its surroundings. I have grown to appreciate its unique spirit and sense of community. Tucson is my love, my home, and where my wife and I choose to raise our family.
It is my goal as a Realtor to share knowledge of the local market so that my clients make informed and smart decisions.
Having grown up around the real estate, construction and planning industries, a segway into a career as a Realtor felt natural. I feel customer service has been severely discounted in the real estate industry for far too long. Customer service is my number one priority! Every client deserves to feel respected and valued, and at the end of every process know that they have made the right decision. I base my service on loyalty, empathy, positivity, accountability and an open dialogue, all while making the process simple and fun.

They represent the industry, our company, and themselves in an exemplary manner. I am proud to call them partners!
When I am not working, you can find me in the gym, hiking, and spending quality time with my beautiful wife and two amazing children.

I always appreciate the opportunity to earn your business, please call/text me at 520-982-4649 or email me at nick_vargas84@yahoo.com

In 1974 Kerstin and Spencer Block opened the first Buffalo Exchange in Tucson, Arizona. Kerstin, hailing from Sweden, thought the word “Buffalo” sounded very American, and since they were introducing the idea of a fashionable clothing “Exchange,” the name was born.

Buffalo Exchange works to protect the environment by reusing and recycling clothing. Customers buy, sell, and trade clothing, giving it a second life and avoiding contributing to the demand and waste of clothing pollution. We are committed to supporting the communities and environments in which we operate by having environmentally conscious practices and giving charitable contributions.

    Civano Nursery
Civano Nursery is a family owned and operated business.

Civano Nursery has been open since 1999 and we have gone through a lot of changes over the years. Running a business can be a challenge, but it has been one that we have enjoyed every step of the way. Now gone from single, to married, to driving kids in a minivan! Life has taught me the importance of having a place that you can shop at that has a little something for everyone. That’s why we have a play area for the little ones, a putting green for the older ones and an abundance of plants for the avid gardener. If you don’t feel like digging a hole, no problem! We can design it, deliver it, and plant it for you.

The majority of the plants found at our garden center have been grown by my younger brother Nick at our 70 acre Sahuarita farm. He really has a passion for plants, and it shows in the quality and variety of plants that he chooses for each season. He has propagated some great new trees for smaller spaces: the Leslie Roy Mesquite (named after Dad), The Sweet Katie Burgundy Desert Willow (named after Nick’s wife), and The Doris D Willow Acacia (named after Mom).

How did we get here? Well, it all started with our Dad Les Shipley, who taught us the value of a hard day’s work and the joy of growing plants. At a very young age my brothers and I could be found running through the greenhouses or potting up plants. We’ve just always been exposed to agriculture and the joy of growing plants. Now it’s our turn to pass it down to our children and teach them what our father taught us. That’s why we strive to provide a family atmosphere that enlightens, inspires, and ultimately guides you to a successful garden.
