    Duquesne House Inn & Gardens
An historic adobe inn nestled in Patagonia offering charm, quiet, privacy and delicious breakfasts!

When Rollin R .Richardson came to southeastern Arizona in the late 1800’s, the town of Patagonia was nonexistent. He soon acquired a local ranch and began developing the town. His interests expanded to mining, and he owned and operated the Duquesne Mining and Reduction Company in the nearby Patagonia Mountains. However, the mine wasn’t close enough for the miners to commute from town (only buckboards and mules back then!) so in 1898, Richardson built a boarding house for his miners when they came to town for their overnight forays.

Almost 100 years later, Richardson’s boarding house was renovated and The Duquesne House Bed and Breakfast was born. The former boarding house rooms are now charming and colorful suites, ready to accommodate visitors from all parts of world who have come to southeastern Arizona to enjoy its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities.

Each of the three suites of our little Patagonia inn - The Rollin Richardson Suite, Marguerite's Suite, and Miss Medley's Suite - has its own entrance, sitting room, bedroom, private bath, and a rear door that opens onto the back porch or patio. A cozy but spacious retreat for two and comfortable lodging for four. The one room studio apartment, El Cuarto Bonito, includes a kitchenette and large tiled walk-in shower.

Each unit is colorfully painted and uniquely decorated with rustic Mexican furniture and folk art, and hand stitched quilts. Amenities include WiFi, radio/CD players with a selection of CDs, hairdryers, shampoo, body wash, body lotion, bubble bath, insect repellant, flashlights, and a selection of fun and unusual reading material. Board games and playing cards can be found on the patio of our inn. A microwave, refrigerator, and freezer are available if needed.

Breakfast is served "family style" in the dining room on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings at 8:30. On certain holiday mornings, when many of the local restaurants may be closed, we offer a festive version of our full breakfast. We take pride in preparing full and balanced family style meals. As such, we do not cook to order, but we are more than happy to accommodate dietary restrictions if requested in advance

Stepping out from your room into our tiered gardens you will find three distinct patio areas. Along with our enclosed Arizona porch, you are bound to find a place to enjoy quiet and privacy. Mature deciduous trees provide cool shade in the summer and then drop their leaves to let in the warm winter sun. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon nap in the hammock or a glass of wine in our gardens on a cool summer evening. Spend a starry winter night warmed by the outdoor fire pit or inside by the wood burning stove on the Arizona porch. Pansies provide bright winter color against the rock terraces while vinca vine, rosemaries and salvias offer cool green leaves and colorful blooms.

As Patagonians who love exploring this area, we are here to help you discover the experiences that will make your trip to southeastern Arizona a memorable one. We hope to see you soon!

Enchanting 1880s Arizona Guest Ranch The Triangle L Guest Ranch is a magical property nestled among giant oaks and boulders in the high desert foothills of the Catalina Mountains. Set on fifty secluded acres, with lovely whitewashed adobe buildings dating from the 1880s, Triangle L Ranch offers comfortable accommodations, privacy, easygoing hospitality, and the charm of a historic ranch setting. Our abundant birds and wildlife, our cloudless, temperate days and star-filled night skies, make the Triangle L a carefree environment to relax, slow down, watch birds, walk the sculpture park trails or simply enjoy a peaceful retreat for individuals, couples, families, and friends. (Painting of the Triangle L Ranch circa 1932)

Triangle L Ranch is a fascinating and enduring part of early Arizona history. Once inhabited by Apaches, in the 1880s the land was homesteaded as the “Boot Ranch,” named for its leather-making activities. The property was later purchased by the Ladd family of Boston and transformed into a cattle ranch. Among its early frequent visitors was Wild West showman “Buffalo Bill” Cody.

The houses of the Triangle L Ranch have served as homestead, workers' quarters, and visitors’ accommodations for over a hundred years. Now carefully restored, these same cottages offer today’s guests the pleasures of desert living, along with privacy, quiet, and the ambiance of a simpler time in Arizona’s history. Each unique cottage is furnished with comfortable farmhouse antiques.

Rates are for two people, with breakfast included.

GLOW--Triangle L Ranch comes alive with glowing light during this multimedia art event coinciding with the full moon. GLOW celebrates the work of dozens of visual and performance artists. This much-anticipated regional event is held each fall.

SCULPTURE PATH-- Winding through a portion of Ranch property is the Sculpture Path, an outdoor gallery displaying work by some of Southern Arizona's most prominent sculptors. Here in the high desert, these site-specific installations are a collaboration between art and nature.
